Bourke is located in north-western New South Wales, Australia. With a population of 4400 (3000 of these in the town itself), the major industries are cotton, wool, citrus and tourism. Bourke has a rich heritage, which has been immortalised in both poetry and song. Henry Lawson lived for some years in Bourke, and his experiences moved him to state that "if you know Bourke, you know Australia". Why not come to Bourke and see for yourself what has appealed to so many of Australia's great poets, and what has brought visitors from all over the world to the Back o' Bourke.
